Summary
The Energy Supply Analyst will develop buying strategies and conduct procurements to minimize electricity and natural gas costs for clients in deregulated markets. The ideal candidate will work directly with suppliers to obtain pricing, negotiate and review contracts before presenting the contract(s) and related cost savings to nationally-based clients. The employee will also track and monitor electricity and natural gas supply markets. This full-time position reports to the Analysis Team Director and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Cost Control Associates provides a comprehensive in-house orientation program for this position.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Tracking and analyzing market conditions and trends for electricity and natural gas supply markets
- Developing risk profiles for clients
- Working directly with suppliers to better understand offerings
- Negotiating contract pricing and language
- Preparing and presenting results to clients
- Analyzing utility bills to verify/determine savings or opportunities
Secondary responsibilities include:
- Detailed review and analysis of energy bills
- Negotiation of refunds/cost savings with suppliers on behalf of clients
- Occasional travel for attendance at trade shows, technical conferences, client meetings, etc.
Required Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of or interest in electricity and natural gas supply markets and pricing for deregulated markets
- 4-year college degree in math, accounting, business or other related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in working directly with clients by phone and email
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and work independently
- Intermediate knowledge of MS-Excel and MS-Word
